Cassie Mitchell
Cassie Mitchell is a 20-year-old student at the Florida State University, majoring in public relations. She is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa, Lambda Pi Eta Communications Honor Society, the Florida Public Relations Association, the Student Government Association Public Relations Committee and the Delta Alpha Chi Christian sorority. She has held numerous leadership positions including: Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society Scholarship Officer and Public Relations Officer, Chipola College Honors Society Treasurer, Evangel Worship Center Sonkids Choir Director, and led groups in various service projects including a Hurricane Katrina relief effort in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi.

She currently holds a 3.93 GPA and has been on the Dean’s List every semester she has been in college. Cassie graduated from Chipola College in May 2009 with her Associate in Arts degree before transferring to Florida State University.

This is Cassie’s first year competing in the Miss America Organization and feels truly blessed to have the opportunity to compete for Miss Florida. She also is excited about the opportunity to promote her platform, “Taking Leaps for Literacy” and the Children’s Miracle Network. Cassie has coordinated book tours with published authors, student mentoring programs, literature competitions, and assessment test preparatory sessions for student of all ages, pre-school to college. She has completed over 1,000 hours of community service since high school.

In addition to being a full-time student at Florida State University, Cassie also works at Legacy Toyota in Tallahassee, Florida. In her spare time, she loves to play with her miniature Dachshund Bella, spend time with family and friends and sing as much as she can.

Cassie will be singing “The Wizard and I” from the Broadway musical Wicked at Miss Florida in July.
